Description
Ecommerce Trading Assistant
Full-Time
Kingston-Upon-Thames

At Crew Clothing, we believe clothes are about so much more than “just clothes”. Designed with the spirit of the south coast in every stitch, our crossed oars are a mark of timeless British style. These are clothes for life’s best moments.
We believe in collaboration, kindness and creativity, in celebrating our successes and championing our customer at every step of the way. From ’93 to now, people have been at the heart of everything we do. It’s in our name – Crew.

Purpose of the role:
We’re looking for a bright, analytical Ecommerce Trading Assistant with a passion about all things digital to join our Ecommerce team. With a focus on Ben Sherman, you’ll play a key role in optimising online sales and conversion rates, while supporting the onboarding of new brands within the Crew Clothing Group portfolio as part of our ambitious growth strategy.
Based in Head Office and reporting into the Ecommerce Trading Manager, you will be supporting the day-to-day trading of the Ben Sherman websites by ensuring that all product content is delivered on time in an accurate and compelling way, and by providing regular trade reporting and analysis to optimise performance.

Responsibilities:

On-site Product Management and Trading

  • Support the Ecommerce Trading Manager with the day-to-day trading of the website
  • Manage the on-site product launch process, working with the Merchandising and Marketing teams to ensure product images and copy are compelling and always uploaded on time
  • Maximise cross-selling opportunities by maintaining outfitting recommendations for each product
  • Work with Merchandising to ensure products are effectively merchandised and assigned to the correct categories, moving into Sale categories when relevant
  • Manage on-site promotional activity including set-up, testing, communicating activity with the Retail and Customer Service teams, analysing performance and reporting back on code redemption from new versus existing customers
  • Ensure any products featured in marketing activity, promotions and website features are live on-site, fully optimised and supported with stock
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team to receive and act on feedback regarding the website in order to improve end-to-end customer experience
  • Conduct weekly quality control checks to maintain high standards across the site
  • Conduct weekly review of retail bestsellers and low-converting products to identify opportunities for the website to increase sales of those lines
  • Maintain and manage the Trading and Marketing Calendar, ensuring key dates, promotions, campaigns and marketing activity are captured
  • Support the Ecommerce Trading Manager and Digital Marketing Manager in recommending the optimum products to feature in emails and website content to maximise sales performance
  • Support the Ecommerce Trading Manager with monthly/seasonal planning activity
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships across all departments, especially Ecommerce, Marketing and Merchandising, to be known as the web production point of contact

Reporting

  • Support the Ecommerce Trading Manager to produce the weekly trade pack each Monday
  • Use analytics tools such as Google Analytics and heatmaps to monitor and report back on overall website, category and product performance, along with actions to improve
  • Report on website and company bestsellers and work with the Merchandising team to ensure those lines have sufficient stock to support predicted sales expectations
  • Communicate the number of lines launched on the site the previous week and highlight any issues such as late deliveries and missing assets
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Experience within a similar commercial environment, having previously used Google Analytics and/or other tools to assess website performance
  • A passion for Ecommerce is essential and a desire to work in a fast-paced retail environment
  • A trading mentality – curious about numbers, able to investigate and challenge performance and action orientated.
  • Strong analytical skills, confident working in Microsoft Excel and able to translate findings into new ideas and recommendations
  • Conscientious and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across Head Office teams
  • Able to grasp multiple technical systems quickly
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work calmly in order to meet deadlines
  • Have energy, the willingness to be flexible and get stuck-in in order to meet the needs of the business and make a tangible difference to performance and customer
  • Great communication skills, both written and oral and with a keen attention to detail
