Management Accountant

Purpose of the Role:
- To oversee the month-end cost accrual process including preparation of month end postings, analysis of performance against budget and last year, balance sheet recs and balance sheet review.
- Taking ownership and responsibility for key account lines within the P&L, ensuring understanding of balances and accuracy of reporting
- Ensure all month end cost journals are calculated and processed accurately and on a timely basis for key account lines within the P&L;
- Explanation of variances compared to budget and last year;
- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a monthly basis, investigate and resolve any variances on a timely basis;
- Management of Fixed Asset Register including reporting on CAPEX vs budget and liaising with business stakeholders;
- Assisting in Intercompany reconciliations
- Assist in year-end audit;
- Daily and Weekly Sales Reporting – Working alongside other finance team members to ensure the accuracy and delivery of our sales reporting;
- Commercial Analysis - Supporting ad hoc analysis across the channels: sales, costs and profitability
- Business Partnering - Building relationships and business partnering across the business to enable a mutual understanding of financial impacts and projections
- Ad hoc reporting and analysis: Review and redesign of reporting, when appropriate, to ensure value-add outputs
Key Skills/Experience:
Essential:
- Qualified / Part-qualified and studying towards an accounting qualification (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
- Advanced excel skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all outputs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well both within finance and across the business at all levels
- Pro-active
- Team player but ability to work independently
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work well under pressure and to varying deadlines.
- Good analytical skills and problem solving skills.
