Description
Technical Lead - Integration & Architecture
Kingston-on-Thames (4 days in office, 1 WFH day)
37.5 hours per week

Crew Clothing Company is a British lifestyle brand operating across four brands — Crew Clothing, Pringle of Scotland, Saltrock and Ben Sherman — with 130+ Crew stores, a growing digital channel and an omnichannel customer experience. We are in the middle of a significant technology transformation: a new eCommerce platform, a new third-party logistics partner, and an upgrade to our ERP platform, all running concurrently and targeting delivery before the end of 2027.

Our IT team is small and highly capable. We are building an internal integration function that will own how all our systems connect — and this role is at the foundation of that team.

Purpose of the role:

This is a senior, highly technical role at the heart of Crew Clothing's technology transformation. As Technical Lead, you will own the architecture and governance of how all our systems connect — our eCommerce platform, our new warehouse platform, our new ERP platform, and the cloud-based integration layer that ties them together.
You will take over from a departing Solutions Architect and be the senior technical authority on integration for the business. You will work closely with external delivery partners — including our eCommerce delivery partner, our ERP delivery partner and our logistics partner — establishing a formal architecture decision log and ensuring that integration design is right from day one, not retrofitted later.
This role is the cornerstone of a new internal integration team we are building. You will be the most senior technical hire in this function and will shape how the team operates.

What it involves:

  • Own the integration architecture across all systems — defining patterns, standards and governance
  • Lead the technical handover from our current delivery partner — documenting all existing decisions and system dependencies
  • Establish and maintain the architecture decision log — ensuring all integration choices are formally recorded
  • Design our new ERP platform integration layer from day one — working with our ERP delivery partner to ensure our ERP connects correctly to all platforms
  • Govern our eCommerce OMS integration build — working with our eCommerce delivery partner to ensure Crew's systems connect correctly
  • Provide technical leadership to the Integration Developer and QA and Delivery Planner as the team grows
  • Define and maintain integration runbooks and documentation — reducing reliance on individual knowledge
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for integration incidents and go/no-go decisions

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Technical Lead in a retail or omnichannel environment
  • Deep knowledge of integration architecture — REST APIs, event-driven patterns, middleware platforms (Azure Integration Services or equivalent)
  • Experience connecting ERP systems (ideally Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent ERP) to eCommerce and logistics platforms
  • Confidence managing third-party delivery partners technically — reviewing their designs, challenging their decisions, and holding them to account
  • Strong documentation skills — you write things down, formalise decisions, and leave things better than you find them
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, multi-programme environment where priorities change and pragmatism matters
  • Experience in fashion or multi-brand retail is beneficial but not essential

If successful, you will join a lean, ambitious IT team in the middle of the most significant technology change programme in Crew Clothing's history. This is a role for someone who wants genuine ownership and the opportunity to build something from the ground up. You will have the support of the Director of Technology and work alongside a Programme Lead (being appointed) who will handle governance and delivery coordination — freeing you to focus on the technical architecture.
