Assisting the merchandiser in all aspects of the merchandising function. You will be there to maximise profit and cash sales through efficient stock management, potentializing sales and minimising markdown.
Responsibilities:
· Contribute to day-to-day trading of the department to ensure maximum profit with the customer and brand in mind.
· Set up and maintain WSSI through weekly updates of stock levels, sales and intake as well as re-forecasting sales and presenting summary monthly to senior merchandiser.
· Work closely with outlet buying department to ensure all buys and range plans are completed by set deadline.
· Work with logistics and buying departments to manage launch availability in line with planned ranging dates and highlight any potential risks to outlet team.
· With support from senior merchandiser learn to create and regularly maintain the department Open to Buy (OTB).
· Contribute to the departmental strategy, producing ad-hoc historical analysis as required.
· Support the senior merchandiser to plan and reforecast Continuity product from top line through to line card level using sales analysis to suggest potential re-buys.
· Propose and cost markdown and promotional activity whilst taking into consideration margin impact.
· Produce weekly trade reports and analysis for merchandising department and participate in Monday trade meetings.
· Highlight category areas of concern based on sell through and ROS and any potential opportunities and risks to buying and merchandising departments.
· Assist the senior merchandiser in range planning for upcoming seasons.
· Supervise and manage allocation function in-line with company and departmental KPIs.
· Work closely with branch merchandising department to ensure store stock and replenishment is accurate based on sales trends and future promotions.
· Training and development of MAA to achieve set objectives.
· Help to produce analysis for quarterly lessons learnt meetings including category reviews using ROS and sell through to influence merchandising decisions for current and future seasons with support from MAA.
· Visit stores and competitors to understand customer base and review. promotional strategies across outlet centres presenting feedback to outlet department.
Key Skills and Experience
· Currently working as an Assistant Merchandiser or Senior MAA/allocator.
· Excellent Excel skills.
· Highly numerate.
· Strong presentation skills.
· Knowledge of critical path and product lifecycle of similar category.
· Commercial awareness with understanding of fashion retail industry and competitors.
· Able to work both independently and within a small team.
· Ability to proactively manage heavy workload, able to prioritize and meet tight. deadlines delegating where necessary.
· Experience mentoring an MAA or allocator.
· Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
· Be able to communicate with all levels within the business.
