Purpose of the role:

We are looking for a Merchandising Administrative Assistant with drive and determination assist with our Merchandising team in all aspects, with particular focus on retail stock allocation, raising purchase orders, manging intake levels and general administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Work and collaborate with the Product, Merchandising, Creative and Retail teams at all stages of a project, from initial concept to final delivery.
  • Manage VM helpdesk and VM intranet site.
  • Train stores in visual merchandising techniques & how to make merchandising decisions based upon the needs of the business/individual store. 
  • Lead the create, launch and implementation of company-wide VM training tools, creating content and training documents where necessary, ensuring these are aligned with the overall brand vision.
  • Work with the Visual Merchandising Team in the creation of visual guidelines, updates and brand standards that not only communicate the brand direction but can be used as a training tool.
  • Partner with the Retail Team on store visits to create training calendar/action plan based on the needs of stores.
  • Conduct store visit professionally and productively and produce store visit reports.
  •  Ensure SMs & AMs are trained and coached in VM to achieve exceptional VM standards.
  • Attend regional meetings, new store openings/refreshes, and any necessary travel as needed.
  • Complete travel and expense reports and turn in on a monthly basis.
Key Skills & Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary or related qualifications are preferred with a minimum of two years’ experience in Visual Merchandising. Portfolio examples required.
  • Experience in preparing and drafting communications, guidelines and training manuals.
  • Experience in monitoring and implementing new VM trends in a fast moving retail environment with sales results in mind.
  • Systematic, time efficient and well organised approach to work.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines using initiative with little supervision.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to think laterally on all issues and take a proactive approach to resolve them.
  • A team player with strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and bring the best out in teams
  • Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel and Power point. In Design and Photoshop is a bonus.
  • Ability to travel 60%-70% of time.
  • Full driving license preferred.
