We are looking for an upbeat individual to run the new shop and café at the Crown and Garter. The perfect role for someone who likes working in a hospitality environment with some retail as well.

The role is full time at 37.5 hours over a 5-day period. You will oversee merchandise, purchasing, ordering and display as well as serving customers food and refreshments. This is the perfect opportunity for someone who lives locally and who wants to work in a happy and relaxed environment.

 

General Purpose

Ensuring the delivery of excellent customer service in a cheerful and efficient manner to all our customers.  Oversee the entire shop including the flow of customers/orders and shop environment.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Supervisory duties:

  • Be responsible for shop stock / products and ordering replacement stock.
  • Liaising with Managers and other staff.
  • Responsible for meeting sales targets alongside the Manager
  • Be responsible for the social media output of the coffee shop.

As a keyholder, open up shop for service:

  • Take delivery of goods from the wholesale unit and display / put away.  Report any shortages.
  • Stock rotation and check dates on products
  • Display products and price.
  • Amend menu board with specials / remove any out-of-stock items.
  • Do fridge checks and temperature checks on delivery.
  • Check coffee shop is clean and tidy and ready for service (sugar bowls, clean tables etc)

Deliver excellent customer service whilst:

  • Clearing tables and washing up
  • Engaging with customers

Finishing up by:

  • Ensuring entire shop is clean and tidy, items are replenished for the next day.
  • Sweep / mop floors
  • Check all equipment is cleaned and switched off.
  • Place orders with Head Office for stock items / products
  • Log waste
  • Cash up and place cash in safe place
  • Lock up.
