Honesty Group is an independent business operating pubs, restaurants, coffeeshops, and farm shops as well as serving our online and wholesale customers. Opened in 2014, Honesty Group now runs 12 sites across Berkshire and Hampshire, with our strong community-led values, and people-first approach separating us from our competitors. Honesty Group Ltd is a hospitality company with a portfolio of 10 x coffee shops (varying in sizes) as well as 1 x Farm Shops and  2 x Restaurant sites located around Berkshire/Hampshire. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join our team to perform the day-to-day maintenance duties.


This was the first Honesty coffee shop, and where it all began. A pub with rooms and restaurant as well as a coffee shop and plenty of outside seating, set in a very picturesque setting. The Crown and Garter is open 7 days a week, and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to our residents, locals and tourists. 


Hours and Shifts:

20 hours per week

5 hours per shift:  Wed, Thursday, Friday and Sunday


General Purpose

To clean and maintain the guest bedrooms and front of house areas of the Crown & Garter to a high standard.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • To clean and service all the guest bedrooms and bathrooms at the Crown & Garter on a daily basis, including dusting of skirtings, mirrors, window locks and sills, pictures, ornaments and the cleaning of windows internally and the vacuuming of all floor areas.
  • To ensure all room keys are signed in and out daily.
  • To ensure all lost property items are handed in to the Manager and logged correctly.
  • To be responsible for the cleanliness of the restaurant area, including the floors, skirtings, window locks and sills, pictures, ornaments, chairs and tables and windows internally.
  • To keep daily cleaning records as directed by the Manager.
  • To complete requisition forms for cleaning and other housekeeping products necessary for your job.
  • To report any maintenance jobs to the Manager by completing a maintenance requisition form.
  • To comply with all Health & Safety requirements brought to your attention by the Manager and to carry out all duties following such relevant procedures.
  • To ensure that all your cleaning equipment is maintained well and to report any faults to the Manager by completing a repair form.
  • To ensure all rejected linen is correctly identified and that the linen company is notified.
  • To replace any finished or used bathroom soaps and shampoos at the end of or during each occupancy as necessary.
  • To advise the Manager of any bathroom items out of stock that may need replacing by the completion of a requisition form.
  • To keep the linen room and other store rooms other than in the kitchen tidy, clean and dust free.
  • To clean once weekly the staff bathroom.
  • To regularly and as necessary clean all exterior windows to a high standard.
