Bistro Freddie – Supervisor
Salary: £15.50 – £16.50 DOE

About Us

Bistro Freddie is a cosy, 45-cover restaurant in the heart of Shoreditch’s vibrant, eclectic dining scene. As part of the dynamic HAM Restaurants group, we’ve quickly become one of East London’s most loved and lively dining destinations, known for showcasing the very best of British produce through a refined French lens.

From the same passionate team behind Crispin, Bar Crispin, and Canal, we’re all about bold flavours, beautiful wines, and unforgettable experiences. Think generous plates, conversation-starting bottles, and warm, genuine hospitality that makes guests feel like old friends. We’re now on the lookout for a confident, charismatic, and energetic Supervisor with a spark for service and a flair for leadership to help guide our talented front-of-house team.

Why You’ll Love This Role

At Bistro Freddie, no two days are alike. One moment you’re recommending the perfectly balanced glass of wine for a couple’s anniversary dinner, the next you’re orchestrating a buzzing, fast-paced Saturday night service with poise and personality. You’ll be front and centre of the action, setting the pace on the floor, keeping the team motivated, and ensuring every guest leaves with a beaming smile and a story to share.

It’s a role packed with variety, energy, personality, and opportunity, perfect for someone looking to elevate their leadership skills, expand their food and wine knowledge, and thrive in an exciting, people-focused environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Owning the Floor: Lead service with confidence, charisma, and composure, keeping everything smooth, vibrant, and full of energy.
  • Food & Wine Magic: Enthusiastically guide guests through our menus, recommend mouthwatering pairings, and create memorable dining experiences.
  • Keeping the Vibe High: Motivate the team, keep spirits lifted, and make service feel effortless, upbeat, and polished, even during the busiest rush.
  • Making Connections: Build genuine relationships with guests, turning first-time visitors into loyal regulars.
  • Problem-Solving: Tackle challenges with grace, quick thinking, and positivity, whether it’s a last-minute table shuffle or a quirky request.
  • Team Support: Mentor, train, and inspire the FOH team, helping everyone grow in confidence, skill, and style.
  • Behind-the-Scenes: Assist with opening, closing, cash handling, and keeping health & safety standards impeccable.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience running the floor in a bustling, quality-driven restaurant
  • A genuine love of hospitality, you shine when making people feel welcome
  • Solid food and wine knowledge (or a curious, eager appetite to learn)
  • A natural leader with strong communication skills and a hands-on, team-first approach
  • Organised, calm, and unflappable under pressure
  • Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, buzzing, guest-focused environment

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • A fun, friendly, supportive, and inclusive team that feels like family
  • Endless opportunities to expand your food & wine expertise
  • Delicious, freshly cooked team meals every shift
  • Flexible shift patterns (days and evenings)… plus Sundays off!
  • Generous refer-a-friend bonus of up to £1000
  • 50% off dining across all HAM. Restaurant locations
  • 20% off wine retail
  • Access to Wagestream benefits & flexible pay
  • Enhanced parental leave, including “paw-ternity” for pet parents
  • Up to 28 days holiday (increasing with length of service up to 36!)
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme & Wisdom App for health & wellbeing
  • The chance to be part of a creative, ambitious, and growing hospitality group with plenty of room to develop
