Description
Who we are

Spring Street Pizza is expanding, with the launch of our bar next door opening this autumn. The bar develops the Spring Street Pizza experience, offering a New York Italian drinks and bar food menu - Negronis, martinis, spritzes, a short wine list on tap - alongside a small plates menu built for sharing: daily housemade focaccia, crudo, fritti, and our signature red-sauce meatballs, all made from scratch and made with the same care, attention and produce that we are known for.

Role Overview

As a Senior Chef de Partie at The Bar at Spring Street, you'll take ownership of a section through service and lead by example in prep and execution, while supporting the Head Chef (Bar) in running the kitchen day to day. You'll play a key role in maintaining consistency across our housemade small plates menu - from daily focaccia to crudo, fritti, and our signature meatballs - and in developing the wider team. This is a 50 hour full-time role, reporting to the Head Chef (Bar).

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of a section, running it confidently and consistently through service.
  • Prepare house-made produce to a consistently high standard
  • Support the Head Chef (Bar) with day-to-day kitchen organisation, including prep lists and stock checks.
  • Help train, guide, and support Chefs de Partie and more junior team members.
  • Maintain excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, and organisation in the kitchen.
  • Deputise for the Head Chef (Bar) on sections or shifts as required.
  • Support stock rotation, ordering input, and minimising waste.
  • Contribute to a positive, hardworking kitchen culture and continuous improvement.
  • Step in across sections as needed within a small, agile team.
  • Support with prep for Spring Street Pizza
What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie, ideally within small plates, bar-dining, or a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Strong knife skills, technical ability, and attention to detail in food preparation.
  • Some experience supporting, training, or informally leading junior team members.
  • A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality, housemade ingredients.
  • Ability to work efficiently and stay organised under pressure.
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • A team-player mindset and a proactive, can-do attitude.
What We Offer

  •  £18.00 - £19.00 per hour including service charge
  • 5.6 weeks paid holiday (inclusive of public holidays)
  • Staff meals during shifts
  • Staff discounts and team socials
  • A welcoming, energetic team environment
  • Ongoing training and opportunities for internal progression
