Facilities Maintenance Electrician | Central London
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 (DOE)
Hours: Full-Time | Afternoons, Evenings & Weekends
Location: Central London (Multi-site)
The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated, practically-minded electrician to join our facilities team supporting some of London’s busiest and most prestigious hospitality venues. If you are early in your career or an established professional looking for hands-on experience across a variety of high-profile, real-world sites, this role offers a unique pathway into commercial facilities management.
You will be based across Central London venues during afternoons, evenings, and weekends—hours that suit an electrician looking to build their career without early morning starts.
Why This Role Works for You
Commercial Experience: Build a diverse portfolio of experience across multiple high-end London hospitality sites.
Modern Schedule: Afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts—ideal for fitting work around other commitments or avoiding the morning rush.
Skill Diversification: Develop a multi-skilled profile beyond electrical work, including plumbing, HVAC support, and statutory compliance.
Prime Locations: All sites are centrally located and exceptionally well-connected by tube and bus.
Career Mentorship: Work under a supportive Facilities Manager dedicated to your professional development.
What You’ll Be Doing
Electrical & General Maintenance
Execute fault-finding and first-line electrical repairs across various venues.
Replace lamps, fittings, and minor electrical components.
Carry out safe isolation and basic wiring tasks within your competency level.
Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules alongside specialist contractors.
Compliance & Safety (Full Training Provided)
Conduct weekly fire alarm testing and monthly emergency lighting checks.
Maintain accurate compliance records and digital maintenance logs.
Assist the Facilities Manager with health & safety audits and tasks.
General Site Upkeep
Perform basic plumbing fixes, including leaks, taps, and blockages.
Manage general building upkeep, including minor painting, decorating, and furniture repairs.
Monitor plant rooms and proactively flag potential issues to management.
What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: An electrical qualification (City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent)—candidates currently working toward these are encouraged to apply.
Experience: Some commercial or trade experience, even if in the early stages of your career.
Independence: Comfortable working independently and traveling across different sites in Central London.
Proactive Mindset: Good communication skills and a "can-do" attitude toward problem-solving.
Reliability: Able to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends consistently.
Licensing: 18th Edition (BS 7671) qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
The Detail
Salary: £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience.
Type: Permanent, Full-Time.
Transport: Public transport is the primary mode of travel (a driving licence is a bonus, not a requirement).
Please note: This role is specifically for individuals with a genuine electrical background looking to grow into a well-rounded commercial facilities career; it is not suitable for general DIY or domestic handyman work.
