The Wave

Description

The Wave, Bristol, are recruiting a full-time, fixed-term Family Activity Instructor at The Wave for our 2025 season!

The Wave is the first inland-surfing destination of its kind, where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can experience the joy of surfing and its many physical and mental health benefits. But it’s not just about surfing—it’s about getting back to nature, improving wellbeing, connecting with others, enjoying great food and drink, and having loads of fun in the process!

As a Family Activity Instructor, you are responsible for helping to develop, promote, and deliver our brand-new offering of weekly children’s and family activities as part of our expanding events calendar at our ground-breaking venue. Our ideal Wavemaker will be enthusiastic, creative and confident engaging with children and families to create memorable, meaningful experiences.

Why join The Wave?

Our values as a business are the same as those we have as people. And they’re very simple. We know that when people are happy in themselves, connected to a community and caring for their environment they tend to do the right thing, naturally. That’s the basis of how we work. We are adventurous, we are bold in our learning, adapt to change positively, face challenges together and explore new opportunities. We respect and care for each other and ourselves, supporting each other because people matter.

  • Paid breaks
  • 30 days of paid holiday (inclusive of bank hols)
  • Opportunities to earn more through team incentive schemes
  • Free staff surfs
  • Pension
  • Staff discounts on retail of up 20%
  • Up to 75% off your surf bookings
  • Up to 40% off your food and beverage items while on shift
  • Up to 25% off our accommodation
  • The chance to work with a great team

We want everyone to be the best they can be throughout the recruitment process; if you require any additional adjustments, please let us know.

Recruiting for diversity is not simply a tick box exercise for The Wave. We are an Equal Opportunities employer, committed to building a diverse and inclusive work place.

Even if you don’t meet every single requirement outlined in the job description, we would still like to hear from you. The right attitude is as powerful as experience for many of the roles we recruit for.
