La Compagnie Neal's Yard is a gem hidden away in Neal’s Yard, right in the heart of Covent Garden. Spread across two floors plus a terrace, La Compagnie is an exploration of some of world’s best wines, with a highlight on smaller producers and hard-to-find bottles.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
In cooperation with the General Manager:
Team Management
- Oversee
operations of the venue and the team (kitchen and front of house).
- Be
present throughout service ensuring the smooth running of all operations.
- Train
the team and new hires, encouraging their career development within the
company.
- Adhere
to the Experimental standards and ensure that the services delivered are in
line with the venue DNA.
- Create
a positive work environment, ensuring a high employee engagement and optimising
the employee retention.
Wine Management
- Improve,
update & keep the wine selection accurate & relevant.
- Manage
purchasing, stocks & monitoring wastage levels.
- Train
front of house staff and develop their wine knowledge (staff wine tasting,
vineyard visit, etc).
Inventory & Administrative
- Maintain all reporting deadlines.
- Carry-out and follow-up the stock take (wine,
glassware, cutlery, tools, accessories, office supplies, etc.).
- Carry out the venue orders, follow-up and keep
them in record.
- Update the POS system when new wines are added
to the menu.
- In cooperation with the Marketing
Team, facilitate marketing and PR Coverage through seasonal calendar
activities.
Health & Safety
- Ensure good communication with the Health &
Safety consultant and update the Health & Safety action plan.
- Ensure all the equipment is maintained at a
high-level state.
ABOUT YOU
- Certified
Sommelier (WSET or equivalent).
- Experience
in a similar role within a comparable venue.
- Have
a knowledge of wine business management principles and practices.
- Have
an appetite for teamwork.
- Excellent
organisational and leadership skills.
- Be
well spoken with excellent communication skills.
- Attention
to details and customer needs.
- Social,
engaging, and motivated.
- Flexibility
to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.
- Proof
of eligibility to work in the UK.
