La Compagnie Neal's Yard part of the group, whose London outposts include the Experimental Cocktail Club in Chinatown, Henrietta Hotel in Covent Garden and Cowley Manor in the Cotswold. Located in the heart of Neal’s Yard, La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels is specialised in sourcing interesting wines that make upon 450 references. 

Job: Chef de Partie

Location: La Compagnie Neal’s Yard, London
Reporting to: Head Chef

Role Overview:

Support the Head Chef in preparing and delivering small plates to a high standard. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a busy service environment, takes pride in details, and enjoys working as part of a close team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Kitchen Setup & Preparation:

  • Set up your section and the kitchen before service
  • Support daily prep and assist with food production
  • Ensure mise-en-place is organised, labelled, and ready for service

Running a Section During Service:

  • Run a section confidently during service
  • Support the wider kitchen team when required
  • Maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and speed under pressure

Food Quality & Consistency:

  • Ensure dishes are prepared to spec and served consistently
  • Maintain excellent standards of food presentation
  • Work to exceed guest expectations through quality and attention to detail
  • Contribute ideas that match the vibe and aesthetic of the wine bar

Food Safety, Hygiene & Standards:

  • Follow all health & safety and food hygiene regulations
  • Maintain a clean and sanitised kitchen environment during and after service
  • Store, label and rotate food correctly
  • Wrap unused items and store them in the correct areas at the end of shift

Kitchen Equipment & Maintenance:

  • Communicate with the Head Chef when maintenance/repairs are needed
  • Use kitchen equipment correctly and report any issues quickly

About You:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Have a strong team spirit.
  • Attention to details and customer needs.
  • Good organisational and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to respond quickly and positively to a range of work situations.
  • Be well spoken with excellent communication skills.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
