Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a high-volume kitchen, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes. The Line Cook will be responsible for setting up and stocking their station, preparing food according to recipes and standards, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires the ability to work efficiently under pressure, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the culinary arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies and ingredients before and during each shift.
  • Properly label and store all food items in accordance with health department standards to ensure food safety and sanitation.
  • Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, weighing, measuring, and mixing as required for various menu items.
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, ensuring that food comes out simultaneously, with high quality, and in a timely fashion.
  • Execute cooking techniques as directed by the Sous Chef and Executive Chef, maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Prepare food for service, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and presentation standards for all dishes.
  • Operate kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, fryers, and other appliances, ensuring proper temperature and function.
  • Monitor food and appliance temperatures to ensure they are in compliance with safety standards.
  • Actively set up and break down workstations, preparing for the next shift and maintaining an organized and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food, ensuring all equipment and surfaces are properly sanitized at the end of each shift.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  • Assist the prep team and other kitchen staff with any additional projects or tasks as directed by the Executive or Sous Chef.
  • Stock inventory appropriately before and after shifts, maintaining par levels of supplies and ingredients.
  • Display a positive and professional attitude when interacting with front of the house and back of the house staff.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the Executive Chef or Sous Chef, following their instructions with a positive and proactive approach.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks as required.
  • Reports to the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a line cook or in a similar role in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
