Engel & Jang is a vibrant restaurant, bar, and events space located on the Mezzanine of the iconic Royal Exchange. Known for exceptional hospitality, elegant surroundings, and dynamic service, we are now looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our growing team.
As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will support the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day running of the venue, ensuring smooth operations across front-of-house, reservations, and service. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a passion for guest experience and the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced, high-quality hospitality environment.
Full Time - 40 Hour Contract
Salary: up to £18 per hour
Monday to Saturday Schedule
Support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily restaurant, bar, and reception operations
Lead, supervise, and motivate front-of-house and reservations teams to deliver outstanding service
Oversee bookings, guest flow, and table management to maximise efficiency and guest satisfaction
Coordinate closely with kitchen, bar, and events teams to ensure seamless service delivery
Maintain high standards of customer service, presentation, and cleanliness at all times
Assist with staff training, rotas, and performance management
Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and promptly
Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and company policies
Support stock control, ordering, and basic administrative duties as required
2+ years’ experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
A professional, approachable, and guest-focused attitude
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Experience using reservation and table management systems
Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
