Position Summary

Bussers ensure the flow of service continues uninterrupted by filling water, clearing plates, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of guest tables and the restaurant as a whole. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clear unused plate ware only when the guest is finished.

  • Wipe table between courses without interruption to guest conversation

  • Clear, clean, and sanitize tables, booths, and chairs between seatings.

  • Re-fill water when necessary

  • Communicates the needs of guests to FoH staff immediately.

  • Ensure floors are always without debris and moisture.

  • Clean and maintain appliances needed for service and report all breakage, damage to equipment or furniture immediately to management.

  • Properly sets-up side stations, performs side-work and other opening/closing procedures as directed.

  • Always maintain general cleanliness and stock paper supply in guest restrooms during service

  • Emptying trash, receptacles, sweeping floors, restocking all supplies in the dining room and ensuring that the dining areas and service stations are clean and organized.

  • Portrays a positive and professional attitude and appearance.

  • Understands the policies and procedures of the organization and adheres to the company standards outlined in the company handbook.

  • Possesses conversational knowledge of food and beverage items served at the establishment.

  • Participates in training sessions, departmental meetings, or pre-shift meetings.

  • Ensures the well-being of all guests and co-workers by following the Company Safety Standards and maintaining compliance with the Department of Health and OSHAA.


Our Ideal Candidate

  • 2+ years previous fine dining experience.

  • Previous experience working in a large fast paced restaurant setting.

  • Demonstrates effective oral & written communication, interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Possesses excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and time management ability.

  • Actively contributes as a team player by supporting co-workers throughout each workday.

  • Has a solid understanding of the job duties assigned to them and outlined in their job description.

  • Alerts management of all safety concerns immediately.


Certifications Required

  • Certification relating to Alcohol Awareness (TIPS/SIPS for example)
  • Food Handling Safety certification

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift and bend for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motion.

  • Role may include exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.

  • Must be able to work and remain focused in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varying shifts days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
