DEAN & DELUCA, the icon of the American epicurean experience, seeks Full-Time Cashiers for our NEW luxury cafe opening soon in the Meatpacking District!

Dean & DeLuca’s newest concept stands for the experience of enjoying food the way it was intended: at the height of freshness and with an absolute dedication to the craft of bringing together quality ingredients in an environment that reflects your lifestyle. Taking a chef-driven approach, Dean & DeLuca will redefine “cafe” offering guests a new way to enjoy quality cooking, all baked and made fresh to order throughout the day.

From the moment a guest walks in the door and is welcomed with a view of a clean, modern space to an array of fine foods, to the custom-blended coffee with state-of-the-art espresso technology, homemade sodas and a hospitable team, they will know they are somewhere special.


Mission:

We are looking for enthusiastic team members to fill the following positions with a passion for food & beverage, who want to experience and learn the art of making fine coffee and gourmet items and grow with a cutting-edge hospitality team.
• Cashier: Cashiers interact with every guest that walks through the door. The ideal candidate is outgoing, talkative and energetic and able to move with a sense of urgency.
• Food Prep: Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers, and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Concierge: Assists guests and promotes exceptional customer and associate relations through courtesy, service and appearance.
• Barista: knowledgeable of coffee, talkative and energetic and able to move with a sense of urgency.


Key Responsibilities:

• Assists guests and promotes exceptional customer and associate relations through courtesy, service and appearance.
• Enthusiastically greets and thanks all guests regularly.
• Excellent verbal communicator
• Operates equipment necessary to the job, which can include, but is not limited to: register kiosk, scanners, scales, credit/debit card machines, collecting/cleaning & returning carts, returning products to shelf or proper department, necessary cleaning and sanitation equipment
• Follows company policy when handling money, checks, credit/debit cards and gift certificates.
• Keeps all merchandise in the checkout area neat & organized.


Desired Skills & Requirements:

• Able to meet the schedule and attendance requirements of the store.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Prior food experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write in the English language.
• Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic.
• Flexibility to perform assigned tasks independently or as part of a work team.
• Sense of urgency.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet frequent short timeline goals and deadlines.
