Assistant General Manager
Washington, DC

Dirty Habit is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team in Washington, DC.

We are a high-volume, upscale restaurant and bar with a strong private dining and events business, and we are looking for a polished, hands-on hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. The right candidate must have proven experience in high-volume fine dining and a strong private events background.

Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager will support the overall daily operation of the restaurant, lead front-of-house teams, uphold service and hospitality standards, and assist in executing both nightly service and private events at a high level. This role requires strong floor leadership, sound operational judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate a team while maintaining excellence under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Support the daily operations of a high-volume fine dining restaurant and bar
  • Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house team members and managers
  • Maintain exceptional standards of service, hospitality, cleanliness, and professionalism
  • Oversee floor operations and ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Assist with scheduling, labor management, payroll oversight, and operational controls
  • Support execution of private events, large-format dining, and restaurant buyouts
  • Partner closely with culinary and leadership teams to ensure strong communication and smooth execution
  • Address guest concerns with professionalism and urgency
  • Help drive revenue while protecting service standards and operational integrity
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and compliance standards are consistently upheld
Qualifications
  • Management experience in a high-volume fine dining restaurant required
  • Strong private dining and event experience required
  • Proven ability to lead in an upscale, high-expectation environment
  • Strong floor presence and the ability to remain composed under pressure
  • Experience with scheduling, labor controls, and restaurant operations
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Compensation

$80,000–$85,000 annually, based on experience.
