Description
This is a great opportunity to take the first steps in your hospitality career and work as part of Food & Beverage Team with Surya Hotels. In a new era in hospitality, make your mark and really drive it forwards, embracing our ‘Ownership with Personality’ values.
Our 100 room hotel in Bury St Edmunds is home to a busy restaurant and bar, serving hotel guests, business guests and local diners. Our recently remodelled Barley & Graze restaurant and bar offers food, drinks and a modern, welcoming setting. With regular service across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and events, this is a fast‑paced environment where our Food & Beverage team plays a key role in delivering excellent guest experiences.To be a successful part of our Food & Beverage Team we're looking for someone who:
- Has a positive, can‑do attitude towards customers and other team.
- A genuine enthusiasm for learning about all things food and drink — including spirits, wines, cocktails, and delivering the “perfect serve”.
- A willingness to understand different food styles and service standards, learn the menus, and confidently explain dishes to customers.
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment of interacting with guests in a lively, fast‑paced environment.
- The ability to deliver great service — taking orders, serving food and drink, processing payments, and ensuring every guest has an excellent experience.
- Commitment to meeting site service standards and working effectively as part of the team.
- A developing or good understanding of preparing coffees and serving alcohol and wine in both bar and restaurant settings.
- Availability to work opening and closing shifts, including weekends and bank holidays on a pro‑rata basis.
- A willingness to continue your development through in‑house and external training sessions.
