We are looking for a talented and motivated Kitchen Manager to lead our Kitchen operation at The Dragonfly Hotel at Ardleigh, just outside Colchester.

The Dragonfly Colchester hotel offers a relaxing and comfortable place to stay whether travelling for business or leisure. With Colchester’s historic City Centre just a few minutes away and the beautiful Essex countryside close by, it’s the ideal base from which to explore the local area.

As Kitchen Manager you will be tasked with cooking food to an outstanding level to provide to all of our customers and we are looking for experience in either a hotel or pub environment, whilst leading the other chef(s) to maintain similar standards.

We are looking for our Kitchen Manager to have:

  • Fantastic cooking ability
  • Experience leading a kitchen, including costings, stock ordering, audits, team rotas and reducing wastage
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • The ability to deliver high standards consistently
  • High standards of health and hygiene
  • Great teamwork

The Kitchen Manager role requires:

  • Preparing and cooking items on the menu- to specifications
  • Organising and labelling the kitchen and it's storage
  • Managing and ordering in stock
  • Keeping wastage to a minimum
  • Food safety Level 3
  • Confidence in using computerised ordering, rotaing and compliance applications
  • Managing the kitchen, its operation and cleanliness
  • Complying to food safety and other regulations and checks as set out by the business operations
