Job Summary

We’re seeking a results driven HR Manager to lead human resources across our 500+ employee hospitality group with operations in Detroit and Nashville. You will be responsible for building efficient HR systems, making sure our team members are supported and things running smoothly behind the scenes. You’ll work closely with managers and team members across our restaurants handling everything from hiring and benefits to workplace questions.

What You’ll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities)

·         Lead full-cycle recruiting for both hourly and salary positions within the restaurants and corporate office.

·         Oversee onboarding and ensure compliance with hiring protocols including background checks, eligibility verifications, and reporting.

·         Facilitate annual performance review processes for restaurants and corporate and support development plans.

·         Continuously provide constructive feedback to leadership to support growth.

·         Maintain accurate HR records and team member personnel files using Human Resource Information Systems.

·         Foster a positive and inclusive workplace environment through effective communication, conflict resolution and employee engagement initiatives

·         Address employee concerns, grievances, and disciplinary matters in a fair and compliant manner.

·         Act as a company communication correspondent for team members. Develop, update, and communicate HR policies with team members and managers while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and organizational needs.

·         Manage employee benefit programs, educate team members on benefits and address benefit-related inquiries.

·         Ensure the HR Inbox is being managed by HR team and inquiries are being addressed in a timely manner.

·         Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

·         Gather information and respond in a timely manner to unemployment claims.

·         Ensure company compliance with ADA, FMLA, EEO, AAP regulations.

·         Assist with any additional tasks and projects as assigned by the company.

Your success with us requires these qualifications:

·         A Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration in Human Resources is preferred.

·         5 years of experience in a human resources function.

·         Preferably experience working within the restaurant or hospitality industry.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, preferably Paycor.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.
  • Competence in using job posting platforms such as Indeed, Harri and LinkedIn.

At ELIA, base pay is one part of our total compensation package. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. At ELIA, we are all about setting you up for success! The physical demands described here are representative of those you must possess to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

This is primarily an office role that requires you to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time although standing in, and moving between, work areas may be required.  You will need to be able to operate a computer and other office productively machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer, for a significant part of each day. This role frequently requires you to move around our office or our other properties.  This role occasionally requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. You will also need to be able to operate a motor vehicle to visit various properties and meeting sites and communicate effectively in person, before groups, and over the telephone.
