Description
Established by chef and founder Alex Stupak in 2011, Empellón has grown into a multi restaurant company with locations in the east village, west village and midtown east neighborhoods of Manhattan with more in development.

The primary goal of a captain is to ensure diners are receiving high-quality service. The day-to-day duties range from training all levels of servers, overseeing the proper order and flow of dishes and keeping the dining areas clean and organized. Captains must present a positive, and professional image. Must be self motivated and customer service oriented with strong interpersonal and oral communication skills. It's imperative to be able to work with others and have a reliable and predictable attendance.

We are seeking Captains for full-time employment who should have New York dining experience, strong beverage knowledge, the desire to take ownership in an exciting and ambitious restaurant environment. CAPTAIN REQUIREMENTS:

Professional, articulate, friendly, and punctual
Possesses and exhibits the drive to provide exceptional service
Full-time flexible hours are required (able to work nights, weekends, holidays)
Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours; bend, push, pull; lift 30 lbs
Proficient in computer skills including Aloha
Experience in New York Times 2- or 3-star restaurants preferred
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fine dining restaurant as a lead server or captain
Impeccable service standards and attention to detail
An appreciation of fine food & beverage
Professional demeanor, polished appearance with the ability to exceed our guest's expectations
Sense of urgency, quick and savvy
Excellent verbal communication skills
