Conference Manager

We are an independent family run luxury venue with multiple restaurants, a farm shop, picture house, wedding venue, events space, a festival field and a hotel. 

We are care about our land, our people and our guests with a desire  to delivery industry leading service with a goal to becoming one of the best hotels in the UK 

We are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Conference Manager, this is a 40hr a week role, working Monday to Friday from approx. 7am-3pm with occasionally some flexibly required in response to the business needs. The focus is  on looking after all our corporate clients on the day of their events, ensuring excellence of set up and execution, being the primary point of contact for the host.

The role of Conference Manager will involve:

  • Management of the hotels conferences on a day to day basis
  • Being the main point of contact on the day for the host and delegates.
  • Having meticulous standards of cleanliness, organisation and attention to detail
  • Ensuring all conferences are set up with what they need, ensuring everything is in tip top working order from the AV to the water station
  • Liaising between the sales office and kitchen if there are any disparities/queries on the day.
  • Taking ownership of the department and actioning anything that needs repair or replacement.
  • Running conferences with a warm and personable approach to customers
  • Problem solving issues as and when they arise, with a minimum impact for the host or delegates. 
  • Liaising effectively with the sales office regarding menus and upcoming bookings.
  • Monitoring rotas on a daily basis to ensure correct staffing levels

Requirements for the Conference Manager:

  • The successful candidate must have previous event management experience.
  • Having dealt with corporate clients will be an advantage.
  • Candidates must enjoy being a “hands-on” member of a team.
  •  All applicants must have a flexible approach to their work and be willing to 
  • An excellent standard of presentation is essential.
