Description

We are seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to play a pivotal role in the pre-opening and launch of Sofitel Dublin Airport Hotel—a luxury flagship property managed by the award-winning Arora Group in partnership with Accor’s Sofitel brand.

Directly connected to Terminal 2, this landmark hotel will redefine the guest experience at one of Europe’s busiest international gateways and will feature:

  • 412 elegant guestrooms
  • Extensive meetings and events facilities
  • A spectacular rooftop bar with panoramic views across Dublin and the airport

The Role

As the IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the setup, ongoing maintenance, and performance of all IT systems within a new 5-star hotel in Dublin. This is a key pre-opening and operational role, ensuring all technology is implemented, secure, and fully aligned to deliver a seamless guest and staff experience. Working closely with Head Office IT and hotel leadership, you will act as the main point of contact for all IT-related matters, providing hands-on support, driving system optimisation, and ensuring business continuity across all departments.

Key responsibilities include

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and testing of all hotel IT systems prior to opening.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and Head Office IT on infrastructure delivery.
  • Support system setup including PMS, POS, networking, telephony, IPTV, AV and guest Wi-Fi.
  • Ensure all systems are fully operational, secure, and documented before go-live.
  • Manage day-to-day IT operations across the hotel.
  • Act as the main escalation point for all IT-related issues.
  • Respond to and resolve support calls efficiently, adapting to operational demands.
  • Provide hands-on support to hotel staff and guests when required.
  • Deliver occasional out-of-hours support where necessary.
  • Ensure backup procedures and logging systems are operational and regularly tested.
  • Maintain system security and ensure compliance with GDPR and company policies.
  • Monitor and manage cybersecurity risks and access controls.
  • Support roll out of new applications, upgrades, and IT projects.
  • Work closely with hotel teams to improve system usage and efficiency.
  • Train employees on systems, policies, and new technologies.
  • Communicate regularly with Head Office IT on issues, updates, and improvements.
  • Handle configuration changes including telecoms and network infrastructure.
  • Support AV and IT requirements for meetings, conferences, and events.

About You…

  • Previous experience in a similar IT role within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment
  • Pre-opening experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-department hotel operations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, Office 365 etc.)
  • Solid understanding of networking (LAN/WAN), network protocols, and infrastructure
  • Experience with hotel systems such as Opera PMS, Simphony POS, HSIA, AV, CCTV, Digital Signage and telephony systems
  • Knowledge of backup systems (e.g. Azure Backups or similar)
  • Experience with AV systems and event technology support
  • Practical experience with cabling, patching, and telecoms wiring
