JOB TITLE: Financial & Business Analysis and Reporting Manager                           
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Restaurant Operations Support                              
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Operations Services                                                                                
LEVEL: Management

 

Position Summary

The Manager, Business Analytics & Reporting partners with Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to transform financial, operational, labor, guest, and people data into meaningful business insights that improve restaurant performance.

This role is responsible for developing financial & operational reporting, analyzing business trends, supporting strategic initiatives, and helping leaders make informed decisions using timely, accurate, and actionable information. The position plays an important role in driving accountability through meaningful performance measurement while continuously improving the organization's reporting capabilities.

The successful candidate is naturally curious, enjoys solving business problems through data, and combines a foundation of strong analytical skills with practical business judgment. This individual will also stay current on emerging business intelligence, reporting, and AI technologies to help Farmer Boys continue advancing its analytical capabilities.

 
Key Responsibilities

Business Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze financial, operational, labor, guest, and people metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and performance gaps.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and recurring business reports.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations that improve profitability, operational execution, and guest satisfaction.
  • Leading operational budgeting, forecasting, KPI tracking, and executive reporting.

Operations & Business Partnership

  • Partner with Operations leadership to review restaurant performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support weekly business reports, quarterly business reviews, and other performance reporting.
  • Translate complex data into clear, practical recommendations for business leaders.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives by providing financial and operational analysis.

Data & Business Intelligence

  • Utilize Power BI, SQL, and existing databases to retrieve, validate, and analyze business data.
  • Partner with IT to improve reporting accuracy, automation, and data accessibility.
  • Support reporting during system implementation and technology initiatives.
  • Stay current on business intelligence, analytics, and AI tools that can improve reporting and decision-making.

Technical Skills

  •  Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience developing dashboards using Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Working knowledge of SQL with the ability to retrieve and analyze data from existing databases.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and enterprise reporting environments.
  • Experience working with financial, operational, labor, guest, or HR data.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn emerging technologies, including AI-enabled analytics tools and reporting platforms.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Four or more years of experience in business analytics, financial analysis, operations services, FP&A, creating budgets, reporting, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and business insights that support operational decision-making.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate SQL experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-unit restaurant, retail, or hospitality organizations preferred.
  • Experience participating in cross-functional projects or system implementations is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time exempt position.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, or restaurant travel as business needs require.
  • Primarily office-based with extended computer use.
