ASSISTANT FINANCIAL CONTROLLER – NEW YORK
We need an experienced Assistant Director of Finance to join our Finance team and support the Director of Finance in ensuring that all accounting processes and procedures are completed efficiently and accurately. The role will be key to financial and operating reporting and an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to add significant value to the business.

Conveniently situated in the Flatiron District, Freehand New York has a vibrancy that starts with the guests in the rooms and public spaces and is complemented by the locals frequenting the George Washington Bar and Broken Shaker rooftop Bar, enjoying the regular events and activations. It’s this energy that sets Freehand apart in the city, and it empowers the team working at the property just as much as it does the guests passing through.

NUTS AND BOLTS OF THE JOB

• Support the Director of Finance in the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and property reports
• Assist with the day to day operations e.g. credit control, revenue reports
• Take responsibility for the Accounts receivable function and purchase procedures
• Efficient processing of accounting transactions
• Be responsible for the management of electronic employee files along with other HR admin duties
• Support payroll processing on a monthly basis, ensuring accurate recording of staff hours, holiday leave, sick leave and any other allowances
• Support the Director of Finance on finance projects as required

WHAT’S IN YOUR DNA

• Have an appropriate level of expertise ideally within the Hospitality industry
• Have qualifications or extensive experience in Accountancy/Finance
• Highly experienced in analysis and requirement gathering, ideally having operated in an organisation through business change and transformation
• Established, with a proven track record of introducing cost saving financial initiatives, new systems and processes
