Position Overview:

Reporting into the Talent Acquisition Manager, the Field Recruiter will act as an employee champion and ambassador of Smashburger culture and values to the field.  The Field Recruiter is responsible for forecasting, sourcing, recruiting and interviewing for positions at assigned Smashburger restaurants. This individual will assist with recruiting initiatives that support restaurants, promote our employment brand, reduce turnover and ensure compliance with all federal and state laws.

This is an office hybrid position requiring 3 days per week in our Denver, Colorado Support Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops, facilities and implements all phases of the recruitment process.
  • Collaborates with department managers and multi-unit operators to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications for the specified vacant positions.
  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  • Creates and manages Smashburger job postings and recruitment advertising strategy through ATS and other various social media outlets.
  • Screens applicants and selects qualified candidates.
  • Schedules interviews, oversees preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.
  • Assists with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager and/or other Human Resource staff during the offer process, identifying and recommending salary ranges, incentives, start dates, and other pertinent details.
  • Works closely with managers and HR partners to develop region-specific recruiting plans.
  • Identifies new and effective recruiting sources both internally and externally.
  • Communicates daily recruitment efforts and ensures the market is supported to maintain stability of staffing.
  • Participates in weekly people calls with market supervisor and HR partners to ensure adequate
  • Participates in weekly calls and regular meetings with market supervisor and HR partners to ensure adequate staffing, resolve staffing issues and continue to ensure recruitment standards are being upheld.
  • Creates recruitment materials that attract talent and support application flow.
  • Troubleshoots and manages ATS System.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Attends and participates in job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience with restaurant, retail, or high volume recruiting highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics.
  • Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
  • Proficient with or possess the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience, required.
  • At least 2 years managing all phases of the recruitment and hiring process strongly preferred.

Physical and Office Requirements:

  • Preferably based in Denver, CO with ability to work hybrid schedule
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
