About the Position
The Team Leader position is one of the key faces of our cafes. They guide the guest experience and are a critical member of a store's management team. Fillicori Zecchini is a family owned coffee company in business for over 100 years and we are looking for team leaders to continue a tradition of excellence.
Team Leaders provide managerial supervision when the Store Manager is not on premises. They are able to run their assigned station (i.e. Barista, Cashier, Food) while being entrusted with critical responsibilities necessary for the proper operation of our stores and training of fellow staff members
Essential Functions
Guest Experience:
Greet all guests with a smile and provide friendly, efficient service
Create a rapport with guests by learning their names and favorite products
Educate guests and provide information on all food, beverage and marketplace products
Operate and run their assigned store station (Cashier, Bar Back, Barista or Food Prep)
Review and approve refunds, voids, discounts and comps
Resolve guest complaints and guest services issues
Conduct daily store walkthroughs to ensure a clean and orderly front of house
Help maintain consistent high product standards and brand experience
Store Operations
Open their assigned store and work with the opening team to prepare the store for daily operation
Supervise the closing of their assigned store so that it’s properly cleaned and set up for the following day’s operation
Supervise & verify Cashier’s cash register operations, including: transaction reviews, opening / shift change / closing cash counts and register balancing.
Prepare bank deposits and make bank deposit runs.
Conduct daily store walkthroughs to ensure clean and orderly operation of all store stations and sections.
Assist Retail Manager and Operation Manager with daily inventory management activities (including counts and product reorders)
Conduct new team member training as delegated by the Retail Manager
Communicate with team members and management to solve problems, improve service quality and store processes.
Support a positive work environment
Other duties and side work as assigned
Demonstrated understanding, passion and enthusiasm for coffee
Demonstrated leadership skills
Professional customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Competent in latte art
Strong attention to detail and healthy respect for cleanliness and sanitation
Must Possess NYC Food Handler's certificate
