Management Accountant


Description

THE ROLE 

This role of Management Accountant is to assist the Assistant Director of Finance to be accountable for all the financial activities which include financial controls, protection of company’s assets, accounting operations, preparation of financial reports and the management of the annual budget.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Assistant Director of Finance to prepare monthly profit & loss account and balance sheet as required by Corporate Office and management on timely manner.
  • To highlight any findings and make recommendations where appropriate to procedural issues.
  • To ensure that the hotel’s collections are fully accounted for and assist in the bank reconciliation process including reconciling the credit cards bank to PMS and Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Assist in preparing accruals for accounts payable, commissions or other control accounts for month end and submit to Assistant Director of Finance for review before processing
  • To assist in month end, ensure during the month balance sheet reconciliations are done as required if necessary.
  • To assist the Assistant Director of Finance with hotel’s expenses, ensuring that they are within budget and informing her if any findings and issues arise.
  • To monitor internal control mechanism and recommend changes to tighten security.
  • Cover where appropriate the responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Finance in her absence and complete ad-hoc duties that may be assigned.
  • Work closely with external and internal auditors as required.
