We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Purchasing & Stock Manager to join the team at the newly open Canopy by Hilton London City.


Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will lead and manage the day-to-day goods-in/receiving operation for the hotel. You will be part of a small team that look after our procurement.

About the role


  • Responsible for overall F&B stock and cost control in the hotel
  • Develop close working relationships with all Executive and Heads of Department
  • Being the purchasing first point of contact for suppliers, vendors and internal team.
  • Set up maintain purchasing system with preferred supplier ensuring new stock items have been input, stock and pricing changes updated
  • Maintain preferred supplier database
  • Ensure competitive pricing for goods and services on top selling lines by comparing supplier prices
  • Reporting discrepancies to Head of Department and suppliers
  • Manage timing of and receiving of all deliveries checking against delivery notes/purchase orders

Management of Goods Receiver and their duties


  • Arranging and delivery of requisition & transfer of beverages to outlets.
  • Optimise stockholding days based on sales trend and forecast sales
  • Co-ordinating orders, receiving goods checking against delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Oversee the monthly stocktaking in cellar and outlets.
  • Issue daily food flash
  • Cellar management, stock rotation and requisition processing.
  • Support the Finance team with preparation of all stock related accruals
  • Monthly reporting of Best/Worst performing menu items by Sales /Gross Margin
  • Managing loading bay and back of house areas ensuring they are safe, clean and tidy.
  • Champion efficient and green ways of working

About the candidate


Ideally you will have at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role, you will have strong numerical and analytical skills with a close attention to detail.


In addition, to be successful in this role you will need:


  • You are clearly passionate about your work and have a good understanding of Food & Drink products.
  • A self-motivator, ready to challenge in the interest of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent level of English and solid administration skills.
  • Be happy to collaborate as a part of a team or work independently.
  • Be friendly, approachable and professional with all team members, suppliers and guests.
  • A minimum of Food Safety Level 2 with a good understanding of HACCP.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role, documented evidence of eligibility will be required from candidates.
