Restaurant & Bar Supervisor – Strong Bar Skills Needed

Full Time | 5 days out of 7 | Monthly Tronc on top of salary

Love a great restaurant, know your cocktails and enjoy leading a brilliant service? This could be the role for you.

We’re looking for a Restaurant & Bar Supervisor to join the team at Bishopstrow – someone who can confidently lead a restaurant service, jump behind the bar when needed and help us create the kind of experience guests remember.

You might already be a Restaurant Supervisor, Bar Supervisor or experienced Bartender looking for your next step.

What matters most to us is that you’ve got good hands-on bar experience, confidence with cocktails, wines and spirits, and the personality to lead a team.

A little about Bishopstrow

Voted into The Times’ 100 Best Places to Stay, Bishopstrow is a whimsical country house hotel surrounded by 30 acres of beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

We’ve got gorgeous bedrooms, a buzzing restaurant and bar, beautiful terraces, our kitchen garden and a spa that’s causing quite a stir.

And we’re growing.

New suites, exciting developments across the hotel and plenty more happening behind the scenes make this a brilliant time to join us.

What you'll be doing

As our Restaurant & Bar Supervisor, you'll be right at the heart of the action.

You'll:

  • Lead restaurant and bar shifts, keeping service running smoothly
  • Support our Restaurant & Bar Manager with the day-to-day running of the department
  • Get hands-on behind the bar – cocktails, wines, spirits, beers and everything in between
  • Help maintain excellent standards of drink preparation and presentation
  • Recommend drinks and confidently talk guests through our offering
  • Support and train the team to improve their own bar and service knowledge
  • Keep an eye on stock, wastage, cleanliness and bar setup
  • Lead by example during busy services
  • Help with inductions, training, rotas and team development
  • Deal confidently with guest requests and resolve issues when they arise
  • Share great feedback and keep the team motivated
  • Bring your own ideas and experience – we genuinely want to hear them

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have experience in a quality hotel, restaurant, cocktail bar or similar hospitality environment.

Most importantly, you'll have:

  • Strong bar experience
  • Confidence making cocktails
  • Good knowledge of wines, spirits and drinks service
  • Previous experience supervising or leading a shift
  • Great guest service skills
  • Confidence working across both the restaurant and bar
  • A positive, hands-on approach
  • The ability to stay calm when it gets busy
  • A desire to learn, develop and progress

You don’t need to know everything.

If you've got the foundations, the personality and the ambition, we can help with the rest.

What's it like working here?

Much like Bishopstrow itself – warm, imaginative and never boring.

We're a playful team who back each other, work hard and want people to feel comfortable being themselves.

We care about our guests, our people and the wider community.

And yes – we're absolutely serious about giving people a bloody good time.

  • Monthly Tronc payments on top of your salary
  • Full-time role – 5 days out of 7 on a variable rota
  • Free parking
  • You'll be fed by our chefs when you're on duty
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Genuine progression opportunities across Kaleidoscope Collection
  • Discounts on eating, drinking and staying across our properties
  • £500 refer-a-friend scheme for full-time roles
  • Work somewhere with personality and individuality
