The Role

Your role as a Wine Waiter will be to guide guests through our wine list, offering expert pairing advice to elevate their dining experience. You’ll serve wine with confidence and style, manage the wine inventory, and keep our selection well-stocked and organised—all while delivering warm, memorable service.

Responsibilities include

  • Consistently deliver elegant and knowledgeable wine service, including decanting, and pouring in alignment with The Chapel’s standard
  • Recommend wines and upsell premium bottles and pairings in line with the menu and guest preferences
  • Support mise en place and ensuring well-maintained equipment for wine service including polishing stemware, preparing decanters, organising cellar stock
  • Achieve sales target consistently through upselling and recommendations
  • Ensure proper rotation and organisation of wine stock in accordance with cellar procedures
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Passion and proven experience in the wine industry
  • Strong upselling and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of wine trends, industry standards, and regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
