OVERVIEW OF ROLE

Bartenders are hosts for the guests at the bar and in the lounge, personally guiding their individual experience while executing some of the best cocktails in the world. Bartenders are responsible for maintaining the same level of education of colleagues in the dining room, including wine and food menu knowledge. 

Bartenders approach their work with an unmatched sense of urgency, patience and attention to detail. They seek to communicate every last detail to their team members and work closely with all members of the bar team to ensure that all of our guests’ needs are attended to. Bartenders are caring and approachable while showing grace and calm under pressure.

EXPECTATIONS

The Bartender is expected to:

  • Be professional at all the times
  • Be a positive ambassador of The NoMad throughout your professional career with us.
  • Always adhere to company policies and procedures, including but not exclusive of; H&S policies, HR policies; employee handbook.
  • To role model The NoMad values, and bringing them to life through each and every interaction. 
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the Bartender are summarised below, the list is not exhaustive:

  • Creating and guiding the guest’s experience through explanation of the menu; making drinks; ringing up all transactions and engage with their guests throughout their time at the hotel.
  • Set the atmosphere of ease, comfort and fun by engaging with the guest in discussions and personalizing the experience for each guest.
  • Be a leader and role model behind the bar, mentoring the barbacks and assisting floor staff with any information they need.
  • Up to date knowledge of all cocktails, including classic cocktails; and maintaining complete knowledge of all NoMad food menu items including ingredients; origins; allergy information and presenting this both physical and verbal.
  • Disciplined approach to studying the menu and everything we offer at NoMad; and be fluent in all levels of beverage knowledge.
  • Follow all reasonable requests made by Bar Management including Head Bartenders to ensure the best possible guest experience.
