OVERVIEW OF ROLE

The Room Service waiter provides exceptional service by taking orders and delivering food to guests in the comfort of their hotel rooms. It is necessary for employees to possess outstanding customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple orders. Not only does the in-room dining waiter take orders and deliver food, but they also make sure that the orders are prepared and presented with the greatest precision. It is important for workers to have a good understanding of the menu and be able to provide helpful suggestions based on guests' preferences or dietary needs. In addition, it is their duty to ensure that the in-room dining area is kept clean and organised, supplies are restocked, and payment transactions are processed efficiently.

Please note this is a one-year fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The main responsibilities of the Room Service Waiter are summarised as below, however the list is not exhaustive:

  • Provide a genuine, attentive, and friendly service to our guests to reflect the NoMad standards, from the point of order, to delivery, and collection of dishes.
  • To have full knowledge of the food & beverage items & their specifications, menu prices, recipes and style of service.
  • Taking orders through the IRD dect phones and being vigilant of the guests needs, preferences and requirements.
  • Setting trays according to the type of food ordered and the hotel’s service standards and ensuring all IRD orders are delivered in a timely manner
  • Availability to offer alternatives and ensuring the guest food safety and satisfaction.
  • Preparing and delivering hot beverages up to the NoMad standards.
  • Making sure all kitchenware and dishes are clean and well-presented prior to delivering to the guest.
  • Responsible for cleaning and removing the trolleys/trays from guest rooms and corridors.
  • Stock and replace missing items, inspect, and clean the minibars by departmental procedures and policies.
  • Ensure products in Minibar are not expired and take the proper procedure to remove those products as necessary.
  • Clear understanding of SOPs regarding guest amenities and their position in the rooms.
  • Feeling empowered to make a decision that will enhance the guest’s experience or defuse any complaints which may arise.
  • Always communicate effectively with the kitchen team.
  • Performs opening and closing procedures established for the department.
