The Role

As an Assistant F&B Manager, you will assistant in leading and managing the F&B department, including the team and ensuring that we exceed guest expectations while operating within the budget, turning over a profit in your department. You’ll be focused on the customer dining experience and full of new ideas to take our offering to the next level.

Responsibilities include

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of all restaurants and bars, including staffing, inventory management and service standards, as set out by your Line Manager.
  • Assist your Line Manager with recruiting, train and supervise a skilled team of restaurant and bar staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to ensure a high level of service is always delivered within the F&B departments and across the hotel.
  • Collaborate with the F&B Manager and bartenders to create innovative and appealing menus, as part of a team.
  • Ensure that you are part of delivering our budgets and financial forecasts for the F&B department.

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, F&B Manager or a similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of food and beverage trends, industry standards, and regulations.
  • Cellar Management Skills – be able to manage and maintain hotel standards.
  • Proficiency in restaurant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Set in 3 acres of gardens on a spur dividing the 2 sandy beaches of Paignton and Preston, this traditional seafront hotel was built in 1856. It’s a 6-minute walk from Paignton Pier and 3 miles from Torquay. This traditional, iconic property provides a great base for exploring the English Riviera and the Jurassic Coast.

The Redcliffe has 70 ensuite rooms, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness suite and 2 seaside restaurants. The Redcliffe has many unique features, including direct access to the beach via a tunnel. Over the coming months an extensive redevelop programme is being undertaken to transform The Redcliffe into an opulent and luxurious place to stay.
