The Role
We are currently looking for a Night Supervisor/Duty Manager. You will be responsible for leading your shift in the absence of the Night Manager which will involve reception duties, night audits, maintaining the security of our hotel, guests and grounds as well as ensuring the hotel and conference centre is ready for the day ahead. Excellent customer service skills and being proficient with Microsoft packages including the use of databases are essential. Due to the nature of the work you will also need to be reasonably fit.
The ideal candidate will already be an experienced receptionist in a hotel environment, have a passion for customer service and be professional, well organised and be able to work towards deadlines.
You will be flexible, reliable, enthusiastic with a passion for hospitality and be able to work in a team and also independently.
Our Hotels and Conference Centres are busy establishments, therefore this is very much a hands on role.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the hotel's night operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service throughout the shift.
Lead, support, and coordinate the night team, maintaining high standards of customer service.
Welcome and assist guests with check-ins, check-outs, and any overnight enquiries or requests.
Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
Perform the night audit, balancing daily financial transactions and preparing reports.
Monitor hotel security by conducting regular property checks and ensuring safety procedures are followed.
Handle cash, process payments, and reconcile tills in accordance with company procedures.
Communicate effectively with department managers and prepare handover reports for the morning team.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, and security regulations.
Respond to emergencies and incidents, following hotel policies and procedures.
Oversee room availability, occupancy, and reservations during the night shift.
Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the front desk and public areas.
Train and mentor night staff, providing guidance and support when required.
Oversee and assist with the set-up of the meeting & events space
Ensure all overnight administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time.
