We’re Hiring: Senior Restaurant Manager
 The Perch, OxfordFull time – 5 days out of 7

The Perch is a beautifully restored 17th-century pub and restaurant, just a stone’s throw from the city centre, tucked beside the Thames. With its rich history, idyllic beer garden and permanent marquee for weddings and events, it’s a place that draws people in and keeps them coming back.

We’re on the lookout for a Senior Restaurant Manager to join our small stable management team. It’s a hands-on role, with most of your time spent on the floor helping guide, train and support the team to deliver what we call “casual excellence".

We’re an independent business with a big focus on fresh, seasonal and locally sourced food and drink. People come to The Perch for quality and a relaxed atmosphere, and we take pride in making sure they get both.


What the role involves:

  • Delivering exemplary guest service while keeping things friendly and relaxed
  • Training new members of staff, familiarising them with our expectations
  • Managing bookings and getting the best out of our table plan, especially during busy services
  • Leading by example and making sure our service style stays sharp, friendly and consistent
  • Running pre-shift briefings that set the tone and give the team what they need to succeed
  • Working closely with our Events Manager, General Manager and kitchen team to keep everything running smoothly
  • Supporting and developing the front-of-house team day-to-day

What we’re looking for:

  • At least a year’s experience in a busy, fresh food environment
  • Someone who’s led a team and knows how to get the best out of people
  • A good communicator who enjoys getting to know both staff and guests
  • Calm under pressure and happy to roll up your sleeves when needed
  • A keen interest in hospitality and a love of good food and drink
