About the job
The Senior HR Manager at Go Get Em Tiger will manage a team consisting of one HR Generalist, providing critical HR support to employees across the entire company.  They will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, manage relevant administrative systems, and ensure that the company is living its mission of building belonging for all employees. The person in this role will take a hands-on approach to providing excellent HR support and making GGET a great place to work for all team members, as well as coaching teams on employee relations and compliance issues. They will plan and execute pay and people strategies, own the administration of employee benefits programs, and ensure that we are analyzing relevant people data and using it to inform executive decision making.

The Sr HR Manager should be a champion of the values espoused by the company, including the company's 10 Principles of Service, and should possess the same passion for our product and hospitality that we expect of all of our team members. Additionally, they should be a seasoned HR professional, with a keen understanding of which HR processes can be improved and when and how to improve them. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the employee experience at GGET is one that promotes belonging, support, and growth
    • Work closely with departmental leaders to support a people-first and collaborative culture
    • Execute pay and benefits strategies that are motivating for our employees
    • Work with departmental leaders on succession planning
  • Manage core HR functions
    • Full-cycle recruitment, performance management, engagement and retention, benefits, coaching on employee relations, risk management and compliance
    • Direct the HR Generalist’s work and broaden their skills and experience working with all core HR functions
  • Improve HR policies and practices
    • Recognize when HR policies and practices can improve and prioritize planned improvements for maximum impact
    • Ensure that we are staying proactive with new labor laws and compliance issues
    • Gather and analyze people data to inform executive decision making

    Other Job Responsibilities

    • Build benefits systems that are aligned with company goals, aid in attracting and retaining talent, and are exciting to our employees
    • Own the benefits renewal and open enrollment processes
    • Ensure that employees receive proper education on benefits offerings
    • Lead annual review process for all support center employees
    • Assist other departmental leaders in people planning, talent assessment, and performance management
    • Work with other departmental leaders to establish safety trainings, policies, and procedures that satisfy Cal-OSHA requirements and ensure that we are working towards better safety outcomes by enacting safe work practices
    • Own workers compensation claim management and ensure that we are diligently working to close claims
    • Execute trainings around harassment prevention and bias reduction
    • Stay abreast of new ideas, trainings, resources, and communication tools to ensure we’re operating with best-in-class systems
    • Foster the continued growth and development of the HR Generalist
    • Other duties as assigned by the COO

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Expert knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements affecting employment in CA.
    • Knowledge of the common HR considerations relating to restaurant operations, hourly workers, multi-unit organizations, etc.
    • Familiarity with various compensation management strategies
    • Risk assessment
    • Data analytics
    • Succession planning and talent assessment/management
    • Familiarity with MS office suite, google application suite
    • Ability to prioritize tasks most critical to company success and attainment of our goals
    • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and hands-on setting
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
    • Can provide own transportation to GGET locations as necessary
    • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred

    Experiential Requirements

    • 4-5 years experience in Human Resources Management
    • Experience in recruiting and compensation planning
    • Experience in restaurant/hospitality human resources
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or associated field or SHRM-CP/HRCI-PHR preferred

    Physical and Mental Requirements

    • Work in an office environment and on-site and other company locations
    • Work collaboratively with others
