Restaurant Host - Garden Cafe
£10 per hour plus service charge and fantastic benefits
Our Restaurant Hosts
As Host you will ensure smooth and efficient running of service in the Garden Café for breakfast and lunch services. You will be confidant, self-motivated, lead from the front and be passionate about hospitality. Prime focus will be on guest’s experience - meeting, greeting, and seating the guest, whilst supporting your managers to deliver exceptional service. You will be placed within a team of 20 staff and be happy to support waiters. Creating and ensuring a close working relationship with your team is key, as department fluidity is essential for our business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the Garden Café restaurant is impeccably set and that service throughout is faultless.
- Ensure the guest has the best possible experience, enthusing your team to prevail.
- Meet, greet, and seat our guests with warmth and professionalism, whilst building rapport.
- Liaise with Restaurant Manager to ensure private dining and special events are executed well throughout the restaurant
- Ensure The Newt’s style of service and ethos is always upheld.
- Managing our reservations system to ensure we are maximising our daily sales.
Skills and Experience
- Guest service experience is required
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Willingness to develop, grown and keep up with the demands of our developing business
- Confident in service and feels comfortable leading
- Great attention to detail
- Great time management and self-motivated
- Passion for food, beverage, and hospitality
- Good computer skills

Visitors can take a tour of the gardens, deer park and cyder press, dine in the Garden Café and visit our farm shop. We attract some 200,000 visitors per year, The Newt in Somerset is a vibrant and thriving attraction, animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and education programmes.
