We are seeking a strong part-time Banqueting Chef to join The George in Rye.

We offer competitive pay packages that feature great benefits and perks. If you are seeking a new opportunity that gives you flexibility but stretches your abilities, this role will suit you perfectly.

Banqueting Chef Benefits

  • Generous discounts on food and accommodation at our sister hotel in nearby Canterbury
  • Regular team socials, parties, days out and supplier trips
  • Food and drink training, events and opportunities to develop yourself personally and professionally
  • Free meals when working
  • Working in a venue with a fantastic reputation
  • Being part of a friendly and passionate team

What we are looking for:

  • Team player who communicates well with all colleagues
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
  • Positive attitude and highest standards
  • Have a genuine passion for food and drink

Who we are:

The George’s Banqueting operation supports the Ballroom, Long Room and Kitchen Table rooms which can be hired separately or at the same time. We have a dedicated banqueting kitchen in the hotel dedicated to banqueting service, focusing on weddings and private dining. You will be working independently or alongside an experienced group of chefs who will give you support to deliver to the standards expected from our guests.

After a two-year refurbishment, The George in Rye is set to re-establish itself as one of the leading hotel and banqueting venues in the South East. Having set the standard for boutique coaching inns 20 years ago, a new version of this iconic hotel will emerge this Spring from its original founders - come and be part of one of the most anticipated openings this year.

We are located in the heart of the idyllic medieval town of Rye, in between Ashford (Kent) to the east and Hastings to the west – by the sea next to Camber and its white sandy beaches.

The George in Rye is a local family-owned business with strong links to the community. We are committed to sustainability and buying local. Our guest charitable scheme (matched pound for pound by the hotel) raises thousands for good causes.

Diversity

The George in Rye is proud to be an equal opportunities workplace that seeks to recruit, develop and train the most talented people from a variety of backgrounds, perspectives and skills. We therefore encourage applications from all genders, races, religions, ages and sexual orientation, as well as parents, students, people living with disabilities, and any other groups that could bring diverse perspectives to our business.

Only those eligible to work in the UK or have a valid UK work permit/visa will be considered for the position.
