Cigar Sommelier – George

We are looking for an experienced and charismatic Cigar Sommelier to join our stunning private members club – George,  part of The Birley Clubs.

Established in 2001, George reopened its doors this summer. The newly extended contemporary private members’ Club on Mount Street holds the largest outdoor, heated terrace in Mayfair. Its interiors include artworks by David Hockney and the Club launches with a menu influenced by Mediterranean flavours alongside George classics. This Club exudes style, comfort and effortless elegance for our Members from dawn till dusk and also welcomes your canine companions.

As Cigar Sommelier you will report to the Head of Cigars and work closely with the Cigar Sommeliers, Spirit Sommelier and Wine Sommeliers delivering the highest levels of cigar service to our Members. You will be responsible for suggesting and serving cigars, recommending matches to spirits, wines and drinks. In addition you will replenish stock as required and participate in stock takes.

We are ideally looking for candidates who have:

·       Previous experience in a high quality, destination hotel or private members club as a Cigar Sommelier

·       A keen interest in cigars and the wish to develop your knowledge and progress

·       A cigar qualification would be an advantage but not essential

·       Ability to work effectively as part of a team

·       Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and concisely

·       A keen interest in hospitality and be enthusiastic and positive
