Description
Responsible for: To maintain a high standard of operational hygiene in all kitchen areas in compliance with Hotel & Hygiene Regulations

Job Description: 

  • Areas of responsibility: To complete HACCP checklist
  • Cleaning fridges, Ovens, Food Mixers & Food Stores.
  • Pot wash and area surrounds.
  • Rubbish skip areas
  • Hygiene in Kitchen areas and storage areas.
  • All bins emptied, refuse sacks, boxes etc.
  • Arrive for work, ready to start on time, and wearing full clean uniform as per hotel standard in accordance with company grooming policy and wearing appropriate PPE as assigned by the company.
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene (i.e. change aprons/hats etc as required) throughout the duty shift.
  • Carry out cleaning duties as outlined in cleaning schedule and complete daily/weekly cleaning checklists for all cleaning tasks performed.
  • Cleaning of pots, pans equipment etc, as required and ensure they are stored correctly and neatly.
  • Report any damaged equipment to the head chef and/or manager on duty.
  • Emptying of bins when full or as requested.
  • Thorough deep cleaning as per schedule of kitchen/larder areas, equipment and storage areas.
  • Wear relevant protective clothing provided when handling hazardous materials. (e.g. rubber gloves/face masks)
  • Attend training sessions/meetings as required.
  • To report any damaged / defective equipment to the Senior Chef on duty.
  • To ensure that your areas of responsibility are maintained in a safe, hygienic, healthy and hazard free manner and environment.
  • To comply with company policy regarding: Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene and Security.
  • To be aware of and understand your responsibilities outlined in the Health and Safety Statement and Staff Handbook.
  • To assist in the kitchen on the request on the Senior Chef on Duty
