IMPORTANT: Must be 18+, must be available to work weekends and evenings, including 31st December. 

Established in 1994, our award-winning venues have been hosting events for over 30 years, including comedy, music, drag, podcasts, talks/Q&As & spoken word. Described by The Guardian as “enormously well-regarded”, we pride ourselves on a commitment to excellence & innovation in live events.

The Venue: The Glee Club Birmingham is one of the longest running comedy clubs in the UK. Our main room has a capacity of 400 seated / 600 standing, and is open every Thursday, Friday and Saturday for our weekly comedy nights, as well as being available to hire to some of biggest names in comedy, music, drag, cabaret and spoken word 7 days a week. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking person with personality and great customer service skills, to join our bar and floor staff team. 

Pay: £12.30ph + tips and a bonus scheme, paid 4 weekly.

Job Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Dealing with certain, low level, customer issues effectively and efficiently.

  • Read tickets and take correct food to correct tables efficiently (you will be required to carry a tray). 

  • Serve drinks orders to tables. (Carrying trays).

  • Collect empty plates and glasses from the floor during intervals and whilst serving. 

  • Maintain high cleanliness standards in the kitchen and wash up area. 

  • Polishing & wrapping cutlery.

  • Loading and unloading glass / dishwahsers.

  • Complete any reasonable job requested by your manager to ensure the venue is operates efficienty.

  • Things To Know:

  • These are short burst 2 hr shifts to help during peak hours, occasionally extending to 3 hrs depending on business levels. Peak hours are between 6.30-9.30pm which is when you will required. 

  • Shifts finish early enough to use public transport home. 

  • The position requires someone who can work quickly and efficiently.  As a member of our Xpress team you'll be working during peak hours so speed, competency and great customer service skills are essential.

  • Productivity scheme which could mean an extra £1.50 per hour, on that shift, if targets are hit.
