Goods Receiver | Watergate Bay Hotel – CPU Kitchen | Full-time, 7am – 4pm

This is a full-time position, working 5 days per week, with an immediate start.

We’re here to share the joy of Watergate Bay for everyone, now and for the future.

That means doing everything we can to make sure our team, guests and planet stay happy through the moments we create and the impact we have.

Through proper hospitality, active relaxation and thoughtful experiences, we create the time and space for guests and teams to feel their best.

Our Goods Receiver role

Assisting our Head Chef in the smooth running of our CPU Kitchen, you'll be responsible for receiving and checking all deliveries, ensuring every order meets our high standards before acceptance.

You'll then sort, decant and distribute goods to the appropriate departments, keeping our fridges, cellars, stores and cupboards well organised, fully stocked and ready for service. You'll also support the team with monthly stock takes.

As our Goods Receiver, you'll be an essential part of our kitchen team whilst enjoying everything life at Watergate Bay Hotel has to offer.

What you’ll be responsible for

  • Keeping our food storage areas clean, organised and well maintained, reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Receiving and checking deliveries, liaising with drivers and raising any concerns where needed.
  • Ensuring fridges are operating at the correct temperatures through regular checks.
  • Storing perishable goods promptly and following strict stock rotation procedures.
  • Reporting discrepancies, shortages, damaged or short-dated goods, and quality concerns.
  • Keeping equipment clean, sanitised and in good working order.
  • Decanting, labelling and dating food products in line with food safety standards.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and hygienic goods receiving area and CPU kitchen throughout your shift, leaving it ready for sign-off at the end of the day.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with suppliers, delivery drivers and the wider kitchen team
  • Previous experience in a similar goods receiving, kitchen, hospitality or logistics role (or a willingness to learn through hands-on experience)
  • A good understanding of food safety standards, with a Food Hygiene Certificate or relevant training
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage your workload independently while being a supportive member of the wider team
  • A full, valid driving licence

What we can offer in return

  • Free surf lessons, surfboards and wetsuits hire from Wavehunters
  • A relaxed, professional place to work in a beautiful location – at one of the UK’s most striking beaches
  • A welcoming team, eager to support and encourage each other
  • Excellent career prospects in an ever-expanding organisation
  • Special rates for you and your friends and family to stay at the hotel
  • Team discounts on Swim Club treatments, plus discounts at our restaurants for you, your friends and family.
  • Team discounts with our partner businesses
  • Team social events throughout the year
  • Team assistance scheme – a dedicated helpline for support & advice on topics from mental health through to managing your finances

Our commitment to our team is reflected in our exceptional working environment – one that promotes work-life balance, professional development, and a positive culture where everyone is heard and supported, always.

Dedicated, loyal guests who love what we do. A committed team with a shared outlook. A deep, instinctive care for the environment around us.  It’s what sets Watergate Bay apart from other hotels and drives us to find extraordinary talent to join us.

Working at Watergate Bay Hotel isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to help create something that really matters. Now and for generations to come.
