Kitchen ManagerOversees, directs and coordinates the planning, organizing, training, and leadership of the Naya and its staff necessary to achieve stated objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, guest service and satisfaction, food quality, rotation, storage, cleanliness and sanitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cooks in their daily responsibilities, providing clear, effective direction.
- Ensures that all Naya drink and food recipes and procedures are followed, maintaining the highest quality and consistent product standards.
- Establish line check procedures to ensure DOH compliance multiple times daily addressing any potential DOH violations, safety hazards immediately.
- Ensure no members of Naya staff are permitted to work if they are not suitably dressed or groomed.
- Approves any maintenance or repairs needed through GM.
- Promotes and practices safe work habits through trainings, education and day-to-day management, including reporting and documenting any accidents and/or near- miss events.
- Collaborates with Management during inventory, trainings, performance review and other operational activities as needed.
Requirements
Ideal candidate holds NY Department of Health & Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate and posses previous work experience in similar work environments/quick service restaurant of at least 1 year.
- Ability to speak, understand, read and write in English and perform conversions and basic mathematical operations.
- Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal directions, prioritize, delegate, work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds, bend, stoop, stand and stand up for extended periods of time.
- Adaptable in fast-paced, high pressure and challenging work environments with outmost professionalism.
- Able to clearly communicate with team members, give direction and provide instructions to subordinates.
- Able to approach their work with ownership and a sense of urgency.
- Able to work nights, weekends and holidays, and variable schedule, per the needs of the business.
- Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics, which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards.
- Polished personal presentation; grooming meets Naya’s standards, as outlined by Employee Handbook.
- Knowledgeable in restaurant operations, company policies, vendors, equipment etc.
- Ability to utilize traditional software programs such as Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and company's systems as needed.
- Participate in community events and mandatory meetings including staff meetings, leadership meetings, etc.
- Must be able to provide proof of full- vaccination status against covid-19 upon hiring.
