Event Staff - Servers and Bartenders

Great Performances, New York’s premier catering company, is looking to hire a range positions for our upcoming season of events in Manhattan and surrounding Burroughs.

GP was founded in 1980 as a source of work for Artists and performers in NYC. Since then we’ve grown to be one of the largest events and catering companies in the state, hosting movie & Broadway premiers, fundraising galas, festivals, weddings and much more!

Whether you have years of hospitality experience, or you are a new to the world of events but are keen to learn, we would love to meet with you!

We’re looking for staff with:

• Outgoing personalities, who are comfortable talking to and taking care of guests
• Great communication skills, able to work with a team and independently
• A drive to learn and grow, to do great work and earn promotions!

Working on our Front of House team you can expect a wide range of duties, such as:

• Serving a group of guests
• Setting up tables, chairs and place settings in a banquet hall
• Passing hors d'oeuvres
• Managing a buffet
• Tending bar, and pouring wine

At GP we want you to succeed in your professional growth with us and in your life outside the company. You decide the shifts you work, and we provide training to give you opportunities to earn positions with more responsibility and more pay. We do our best to promote from within and the majority of our full-time managers started in our events team.

Job Requirements:

• Own or be able to purchase required uniform pieces
• Ability to access scheduling program on either a cell phone or a desktop
• For the safety of our employees, customers and vendors, Great Performances requires that all employees be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless an exemption from this Policy has been granted as an accommodation. Not required, but we love to see applicants who have:

• TIPs or Food Handlers certificates
• Prior food and wine knowledge
• A drivers license and are comfortable driving 15 passenger vans

Starting rates are between $20-$22 per hour

Work is on call, as needed, based on our busy calendar of events and your availability

Until 10/31/2021

• Referral bonuses of $100 per person you referred, after they have worked 10 shifts
• $200 bonus for you for every 20 shifts you work!
