Job Description & Responsibilities
The People Operations Manager is a key role for Gregorys Coffee, reporting to the VP of People. This role is responsible for overseeing the company wide payroll and benefits administration in addition to serving as an HR Generalist for store level teams.
Role Overview

Participate in the strategic execution of company wide initiatives designed to nurture our team while building progressive programs unique to the Gregorys Coffee brand.
Partner with VP of People to Execute the below:
Payroll administration including maintaining the company’s payroll provider system and ever changing jurisdictional requirements
Benefits administration, including serving as a benefits expert for employees company wide
Create, train, and implement company wide policies designed to uphold local labor laws across multiple markets (Manhattan, Long Island, D.C., New Jersey, Connecticut). Regularly audit systems to ensure compliance
Create and execute ongoing training in the area of Fair Work Week labor laws for Manhattan Store Leaders and District Leaders. Update the training to reflect evolving labor laws and ensure all teams are aware of updates. Regularly audit the FWW premiums report and provide insight and recommended action to the VP of People and the Operations team
Serve as counsel and point of contact in the area of employee relations and provide recommendations for resolving to Management teams
Create, develop, implement, and maintain a company wide process for performance management. Partner with the VP of People to create and implement company wide succession planning strategy
Serve as subject matter expert in the areas of PFL, Workers Comp, local labor laws, Disability, bereavement, jury duty (per local jurisdiction), compensation (local wage increases), Harassment Prevention. Provide education to employees
Key Experience / Skillsets Required
2-3 years of HR experience within food and beverage operations, preferably in multi-unit QSR
SHRM Certificate or equivalent (HR studies), or willingness to obtain upon hire
Keen attention to detail with comfort deploying execution
Comfort working across cross-functional teams and levels of management
Strong ability to provide counsel and recommendations within sensitive matters
Passion for people operations with a genuine motivation to protect people first
