Description

Dakota Hotel in Leeds City Centre is looking for a full-time Breakfast Manager. Someone upbeat, organised, and naturally a ‘morning person’ who enjoys leading a team and creating a warm start to our guests’ day.

 

CONTRACT AND PAY RATE 

The role carries a permanent contract of a minimum of 27.5 hours per week, working any 5 days out of 7 including working weekends. Typical shift times are 06:00-11:30 on weekdays and 07:00-12:30 on weekends, with occasional lunchtime shifts as required.

Earnings are £15.30 per hour (inclusive of the anticipated tronc payment), paid weekly. Which equates to a guaranteed minimum salary per annum of cira £22,000.  

PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the role of Breakfast Manager is responsible for leading their team of breakfast assistants. Working closely with the wider food and beverage team, the role is responsible for hosting and running breakfast and lunch service, ensuring the operation runs smoothly and guests have the best possible dining experience.  

  • Be the appointed Duty Manager, responsible for leading emergency evacuations and communicating between departments. 

  • As the head of department, carry out managerial duties including writing breakfast rotas, holiday management, carrying out job interviews, working closely with other departments, and delivering training.  

  • Work with the Breakfast Chef to give feedback and suggestions on continuously improving the breakfast offering and service.  

  • Work to continuously develop the teams’ knowledge and provide on-the-job coaching and be proactive in implementing procedures that continually improve the service.  

  • Lead the team to provide a consistently high level of guest service in accordance to our service principles and values, ensuring that all guests receive special attention and recognition.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS 

The successful applicant will have/be: 

  • A minimum of three years experience working in a restaurant environment and one years experience at supervisor level or above [required]. 
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a hotel environment [required].  
  • Experience being a hotel Duty Manager [preferable].  
  • Experience working in 4* and 5* hotels [preferable].  
  • Great communicator and a genuine people person. 
  • Hands on approach to all aspects of the role, available to work flexible shifts and present in the business during peak times. 
  • Motivational leadership skills and a genuine desire to deliver training and coaching.  
  • A sociable person who enjoys early morning starts. 
  • Ability to make coffees such as lattes and cappuccinos [favourable].  
  • Be an outgoing personality with effective communication skills.  
  • Ability to work at pace through service times and be proactive for the duration of your shift.  
  • Be able to be physically active in your role, standing for much of your shift and working at pace.  
  • An enthusiastic individual who will promote our culture of positivity.  
  • Be task oriented with a great pride for the work they do and attention to detail. 
  • Flexible with shift patterns and available around the needs of our business
