DAKOTA NEWCASTLE – MORNING MANAGER
Dakota Hotel in Newcastle is set to open in early 2025, and we’re seeking a bubbly and energetic Morning Manager to join the team. This is an exceptional opportunity to play a leadership role in the city’s newest luxury hotel. Being one of the first faces our guests will see when they come downstairs, we require somebody who loves mornings and is passionate about hospitality – looking to create memorable experiences for our guests,
This role will require you to oversee the morning operation of the hotel. From managing breakfast service, to check outs, to being designated Duty Manager – in this role, every day is different. At the heart of this role is a commitment to delivering exceptional service, with a strong focus on engaging with guests and leading your team with inspiration and confidence.
Ideally situated by the Gateshead Millennium Bridge on the quayside, our hotel will boast 118 bedrooms including stunning 33 suites. Dakota Newcastle will host our renowned Bar & Grill, Champagne Room, Cigar Terrace, and an events space for up to 60.
PRIMARY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As Morning Manager, you will be required to:
Host and run breakfast and lunch service, ensuring the operation runs smoothly and guests have the best possible dining experience.
Carry out managerial duties including writing breakfast rotas, holiday management, carrying out job interviews, working closely with other departments, and delivering training.
Work with the Breakfast Chef to give feedback and suggestions on continuously improving the breakfast offering and service.
Work to continuously develop the breakfast teams’ knowledge and provide on-the-job coaching and be proactive in implementing procedures that continually improve the service.
As the appointed Hotel Duty Manager each morning, key responsibilities include:
Coordinating communication between departments, reporting any absences and hosting the morning briefing.
Managing guest feedback including resolving any complaints and maintaining a knowledge of guests.
Leading the Hotel through any emergency evacuations and crisis situations, including being a first aider and lead fire warden.
Lead the team to provide a consistently high level of guest service in accordance to our service principles and values, ensuring that all guests receive special attention and recognition.
Be able to step in and assist with all departments, including Reception and Housekeeping, if required.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates must demonstrate having researched our brand and a genuine desire to be part of our team. The successful applicant will have/be:
A minimum of three years' experience working in a restaurant environment and two years' experience at supervisor level or above.
Demonstrable ability to host and run a restaurant service.
A minimum of two years' experience working in a 4* or 5* hotel environment.
Experience being a hotel Duty Manager [preferable].
Although full training will be given, the following previous training is strongly favoured: Food Hygiene, Fire Safety, Personal License.
Hands-on approach to all aspects of the role, available to work flexible shifts and present in the business during peak times.
Ability to work at pace through service times and be physically active for the duration of your shift.
