Gurney's Star Island is looking for an Assistant Front Desk Manager to join our team. This is a seasonal position starting in May and ending in November 2020.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assisting with the hiring, training, supervising and scheduling of all Front Desk staff.
Assisting with the management of payroll for Front Desk staff.
Monitoring present and future room occupancy.
Maintaining proper in-house guest records.
Insures an atmosphere of good public relations.
Handling guests’ complaints.
Constant communication with Reservations and Housekeeping departments.
Maintain all common areas in safe and neat condition by correcting problems as they are encountered.
Maintain the Service Desk area, including the front drive-through, in clean and safe condition.
Conduct staff training, including monthly safety training.
In charge of 90 days and annual reviews of Front Desk staff.
In charge of progressive discipline of Front Desk Staff.
May be required to perform additional departmental duties as assigned.
EMERGENCY FUNCTIONS
Answer the emergency telephone and serve as the Emergency Communications Center as the priority during any emergency
Direct Emergency Responders to emergency scenes as necessary
Assist in Emergency Evacuation
Lend assistance to Security Officers and Emergency Responders when possible
To maintain a courteous and efficient Front Desk operation, and to manage, lead and direct all front desk
employees.
Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years hotel experience in Front Office and or Reservation Department
Skills and Abilities:
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
Computer literate
Strong Communication Skills
Strong Customer Service Skills
Strong Problem Solving Skills
